| S
tarts have been somewhat of a problem this year
for Ellis, but in Macon GA, Kory seemed to pull
it together and managed a solid mid-pack run off
the line.
I've always had a problem starting,
I'm not sure why, but ever since I was a kid,
that was my weakness.
Perhaps being bad at starting
is exactly what made Ellis great at catching and
passing other riders. That's exactly what he did
here, catching and moving by several riders to
position himself near the front of the pack.
This was really a good track, with
lots of room to pass.
By the second moto, the well-groomed
sandy track was getting rough hard-pack track
was developing a blue groove. Ellis manaded a
4-4 finish, which was good enough for 3rd. Diger
Doug Gust came away first overall and now leads
the GNC Pro Class with Ellis close behind in 2nd.
