Team Alba's Traci Cecco Manages a 5th after An Unfortunate Tumble and Complications
GNCC Round 8
Rausch Creek

The Rausch Creek GNCC race has quickly made it presence in GNCC history in the last 2 years with great facilities, parking, weather and most of all BIG rocks! Traci Cecco barely pulled a 6th place in 2003 after leading most of the race with a bent axle after tagging a tree on the first lap which would lend to her wheel eventually coming loose and falling off from the vibration in the final miles of the race while leading. With revenge in her sights and a deafening hometown crowd cheering - Traci was ready to give the course another shot.

Tracy gets up close and personal with the course before the race in her new Team Alba Girl wear.

"I was ready for today" "My family and friends came out to see me race and I love racing on rocks so it was to be a perfect day - I wished"

Off the start Traci pulls 3rd place and quickly follows Baldwin Motorsports Angel Atwell and Honda of Troys Stephanie Parton into the woods. By the end of the first lap Cecco would emerge in 2nd behind Atwell with Parton only a few seconds behind. During the 2nd lap Traci takes over the lead position and quickly starts working thru traffic as a she nails a large rock that was kicked onto the course by a lapper that would put Traci over the bars and break 3 of the 4 skidplate mounts.

"I was in the wrong place at the wrong time when I hit a huge rock that was kicked onto the course by a lapper that was being nice and moving off the track and out of my way" "It hit so hard I lost my hands and fell over the bars after the quad stopped dead in it's tracks"

As Traci would get going the sound of the loose skidplate quickly would fade at it completly falls off as she once again works her way past Parton and Atwell to regain her lead at the end of the second lap only to notice that now the rear breaks were gone from a bent rotor. As the 3rd lap passes - Cecco, Atwell and Parton would once again all take turns at leading but never really pulling from each other with the trio starting the final lap with Atwell leading with Cecco in second and Parton trailing in third.

She nails a large rock that was kicked onto the course by a lapper that would put Traci over the bars and break 3 of the 4 skidplate mounts.

Traci's bad luck would only get worse as her chain derails from having a bent sprocket and jams into the swingarm & engine case ending her fight back to the top.

" After I no longer heard the skidplate I knew it was off and soon my rear breaks were gone too - I had to ride smart and I did - but it was impossible not to hit anymore rocks today - the course was littered with them!" "All in all this was a really bad race for me since I lost at my hometown track and my points lead" "I have only raced 5 out of 8 races at 100% this year with my broken arm which I won 3 of those 5 - I will be back guaranteed!"
