| The
Big Buck Track in Union, SC has been a great facility
for the past few years that seems to always have
great weather and a huge turnout of riders and spectators
alike. The high temp on Friday was in the low 50's
with a dreary sky lurking that would leave a slight
mist of rain in the air for a few hours and then
would eventually taper off and come back later that
night for a brief rain shower to help mat down the
South Carolina soil. Saturday morning the track
was slightly wet but it only took a few hours the
wetness to soak in and make perfect track conditions
as the temperature rose to a steady 65 degrees.
Off
the Start Traci Cecco pulls the holeshot with Honda
of Troys Stephanie Parton passing by the second
turn with Brenda Kress and Baldwin Motorsports Angel
Atwell following in 3 & 4th as the rest of the
10 Women field head to the woods. By the 6 mile
marker Cecco pulls a better line as Parton hesitates
and takes over the lead. By the end of the 2nd and
3rd lap Cecco still remains leading the pack with
a 48 second lead over Parton with Atwell coming
up to challenge Parton for 2nd. At the finish Cecco
holds on the lead with 58 seconds over Atwell and
Parton falling back to third with mechanical problems.
"I
had a great start and my suspension felt great today"
"Around the 6 mile marker I was still following
Parton in 2nd as she hesitated on a line - I took
a different line a passed" "From that
point on we battled thru the whole second lap back
and forth but I was able to regain the lead before
the end of the 2nd and stayed there the rest of
the day" "My Alba Action Sports YFZ ran
flawless today"
