Traci
Cecco Places 2nd at Taylortown GNCC
Coming
off of the the 2 month summer break - Traci Cecco was looking
for a win but had to settle for a second overall in the Women's
class this past weekend. The Taylortown was uncommonly wide
open and fast - gone were the technical woods sections that
make GNCC racing what it is - what was in was ultra high speed
field sections and a few spurts thru woods to another high
speed field section.
"My
Alba Action Sports Yamaha YFZ450 did the job today - I just
needed to calm myself down and ride a little smarter than
how I did today"
"The
YFZ450 runs so much faster and smoother than any quad I have
ever owned that I need to adjust my breaking speed a little
better for Sparta, KY"
Off of the start Traci Cecco pulls third to the first turn
of the grassy start to pass her way up to first within the
first 3 turns and off into the wide open field sections were
Traci had
easily pulled over a 100 yard lead within the first 1/2 mile
of track - but by the 2 mile marker Cecco still leading found
the trees came a little too fast as she launched her quad
over a high speed knoll in a filed heading into the woods
that basically tossed her off and rolling off the track to
get tangled with another rider that had just wrecked too.
Cecco righted her quad up and gave chase to once again try
to regain her lead for the next 4 laps - but fell short of
a hard charging last 2 laps when she tangled with another
rider at a mud hole crossing - it took 2 riders and 1 spectator
to free the tangled quads - In short time Cecco made it back
to the finish line but was never able to regain the lead.
"I
got my act together on the final 2 laps of the race was gaining
some great time but I got tangled pretty good with another
racer in a muddy area that cost me some valuable time"
"
I still have a chance at the National championship - and this
was a great experience for me to race this quad today - I
am ready for Sparta, KY."
