Rausch
Creek GNCC
Team Alba's Traci Cecco Scores a 6th
Place Finish after a Nasty Spill in the Trees
After
a mid pack start Traci Cecco passed her way up to the lead position
to only bobble in a tight tree section and get thrown from her quad
on the first lap which severely bent the rear axle out of alignment.
Traci remounted her Alba Z400 before the oncoming pack could catch
her as she rode to consistent a 60 second faster lap time for the
next 3 laps. After getting the white flag on the 4th lap Cecco continued
her lead which was quickly diminished when her rear wheel passed
by her on one of the many down hills of the very rough and rocky
Rausch Creek GNCC course. After seeing 2nd and 3rd places go by
Cecco gets a lift from a GNCC course worker to take her back to
the pits to get lug nuts and impact wrench, plus pick up some help
in "The Quadshop" pit "Ace" John Rowlrag to help her get her wheel
installed and ready to finish the race. After successfully remounting
the wheel Cecco continued to finish the race to place 6th out of
10 racers.
After
the race Cecco said, " My Alba Z was
hooking up great today - I flew thru a tight woods section a little
too fast and in a flash I was on my butt looking at my Z which landed
about 10 feet from me - I kept the lead for
the rest of the race until my wheel fell off which I guess
paid tribute to the excessive vibrations I was feeling all day in
the rear from the bent axle" "The lug nuts vibrated loose!" "I am
very grateful to have a Lone Star Racing Rear end and Baldwin swing
arm pivot bolt - or otherwise I may have not had a shot to finish
the next 3 laps if the axle or pivot bolt would have snapped - something
has to give" " I would also like to thank the Rausch Creek Racing
Crew for providing us with a great and challenging track today -
I cannot wait until next year!"
