Tight Competition Makes for
a Great Race in the Baja 1000
The
Baja 1000 is usually considered the toghest race of the year
and brings out the best competition. And this year, reports
were that it was one of the most difficult courses in recent
history. So mix that all up in blender and throw some salt
on the rim and you've got for some of the best desert
racing action!
Team
Alba Racing had been troubled in past desert races
with mechanical problems - but this year, the desert-prepped

the quad ran like a champ! In fact, the only real mechanical
problem the team encountered was a flat tire. Unfortunatley
that was enough to cause the team to lose a bit of momentum.
During the nighttime riding, the team got a bit off course,
which caused them to lose precious minutes and slip back in
standings.
Overall
the team finished the 808 miles in 21 hours 6 minutes and
23 seconds - a smokin' pace.
Baja
veteran and multiple winner of the Baja 1000, Greg
Row along with Wayne Matlock, Toño
Zalmón and team leader Alex Crosthwait
made up the fast and experienced rider team for Alba - all
having raced in several Baja races.
