ITP Gorman (Relocated to Glen Helen)
October 8, 2006
Fire hazard in Gorman forced ITP Round
9 to relocate to the Glen Helen back track. Most ATV
racers say that the back track is better than the big
track - it's very technical, lots of whoops. Team Alba
rocked it with a solid showing. ATV Pro Kory
Ellis started out great with strong first motos
in Pro and Pro Open, but technical difficulty caused
him to DNS both 2nd motos. TJ Dietrich
had a strong run, finishing 4th Pro. Mike Sorchy
ran strong, to finish 3rd Intermediate.
Additional Team Alba racers Kelly
Woosley fisished 2nd - Four-Stroke Beginner
and Colton Webb finished 3rd in 2-4
Stroke Beginner.

Expert Class while Ellis gets bested by an old timer!
TJ Dietrich and Sage Baker finish 3rd & 4th in Pro
Class.
ITP Phoenix
September 24, 2006
Ok, to call Doug Eichner an old timer
is probably going to get me in a lot of trouble. Doug
won a lot of races for Alba a long time ago and has
obviously still got what it takes to dominate the field,
as he proved in the first moto with a win over Ellis.
Pro moto two had Eichner out in an early pileup but
Dustin Nelson took off and left everyone in his dust.
Nelson finished 1st overall with Ellis bringing in a
2nd in Pro, Alba's TJ
Dietrich Finished 3rd and Sage
Baker finished 4th for a strong Alba showing.
Expert rider Dean
Pierce continues to destroy the field,
with yet another first place. Alba's Mike Sorchy gets
a podium in Intermediate and Mark Rhodes gets another
win in over 30.
2006 BITD
Vegas to Reno 500
Nevada
August 24-26, 2006
This year, the desert racing association
added 100 miles to the already grueling Vegas To Reno
Race, bringing the total distance traveled in the unforgiving
Nevada desert to just under 600 miles. But that didn't
have much effect for the seasoned team of Wayne
Matlock and Chad
Prull who had a trouble-free fast-paced
race on their Honda TRX450. The Q2 team finished first
continuing their commanding lead in points for the season.
Alba's Expert team of Cory Hove, Rick
Cecco and Tylor Lennig, started from the back, but thanks
to the great start of Cecco, quickly got to up to the
front and never looked back. The Alba Honda TRX450 ran
solid and reliably all day, bringing them to the finish
line ahead of all but the top two pros, 3rd overall.
Alba's other Pro, 3-time Vegas to Reno
racer Steve
Beilman, together with
Clark Evernham,
had, by half-way, worked their way up to 2nd, on the
heels of their team mate, Matlock, when mechanical issues
lead the their early retirement.

WPSA Championship Series
New Jersey
In racing they say every point, every
lap and every second on track matters. Sunday, Alba's
Sage Baker proved that giving it your all, all the time,
pays off.
Going into the final day, Sage was just
one point behind Shumaker for the overall. The Championship
was within reach. In the WPSA, racers are awarded points
for qualifying - and in heat 1, Shumaker finished first
with Sage on his tail. On heat 2 the Sage won and Shumaker
finished second. So at the main event, Sage was again
just one point behind to take it all.
Sage had been getting great starts all
season, and thought that he could close the deal with
a hole-shot. Instead, in turn one, he tangled with a
few riders and went down. Sage thought that was it and
the championship was gone. Until he noticed that one
of the quads in the tangle was #66 of Shumaker. It was
on.
Sage fired up and took off, with the #66
on his heels. They restarted in about 15th place, but
for all practical purposes, the race was just down to
the two of them. The #66 knew that all he had to do
to win the championship was to stay on the bumper of
Baker's #49. So every time Sage passed a rider, Shumaker
was right on his bumper. They were both riding so hard
that by the last lap, they had moved up to 7th place.
The #66 was still there and Sage knew
he had to get one rider between them if he wanted to
win the Pro Am Series. That's all that mattered. Fortunately,
Sage rolls with a never quit, never give up attitude.
Coming into the last turn and the finish line jump,
on the tail of another rider, Sage just didn't let off
the throttle. The other rider, backed off, rolling over
the line. Sage was on it - and rocketed by the other
rider at the line. He didn't even know if he made it,
but the results were in. Baker 6th - Shumaker 8th. Sage
Baker had "unofficially" won the WPSA Pro
Am!
And you would think that is where the
story would end - at the checkered flag. But a mix up
at the awards banquet listed Shumaker as the winner.
So Sage and Race Supporter and all around good guy Allen
White had to do one more lap with the officials. Fortunately
after a bit of discussion, everything was worked out
and Sage Baker was "Officially" the Pro Am
Champion. Proving that a true champion never gives up
until the very end.
Excellent job Sage
Baker! Everyone at Team Alba Racing
is honored and proud to have you as a member of our
race team.

up the pace. Kory Ellis came out of the gate with strong
finishes in both qualifiers and a solid 4th & 5th
place finish Saturday & Sunday. Alba's Pro Am racer
Sage Baker started strong and walked away from the field
in qualifiers and took first place in the main. Sage
went on to take 12th in the Pro Class - on his 9th race

Saturday Night Quad Racing Has Never Been Hotter!

ITP Quadcross
Phoenix, AZ
It's now officially
summer, and in Phoneix this saturday, it was hot. Dry,
dusty and hot. The kind of hot that makes every lap
seem twice as long. And it was at night under the lights.
But to the So Cal Alba crew, this was just business
as usual.
Pro rider Kory
Ellis had a strong run and came back through
the entire field from a lap one pileup for a 2nd Pro
Overall and a 1st in Pro Open. Alba's expert sensation
Dean Pierce
once again trompled the field for another 1st Place
finish - strengthening his series lead. Longtime Alba
drag racer turned MX stud Mark
Rhodes road hard and won the 30+ group.

It looked like
another win for Team Alba's #1 Desert team, until an
unfortunate tangle with an infamous baja boobie-trap
just 30 miles from the finish. Up to that point, the
two-man team of Wayne Matlock and Chad Prull had piloted
their Alba / Factory Honda TRX450 through a solid race.
Despite the late race incident, Matlock & Prull
finished just 2 minutes off the win, and 24 minutes
in front of 3rd.

a big TV debut for Pro ATV MX racing. It's not the first

camera angles - like the rear bumper Natalie cam - for
up close and personal action.
Team Alba's Kory
Ellis was fighting back from a bit of a
slump to a 7th and 8th place Pro MX finish. Alba's Sage
Baker overcame his demons (this is where
Baker broke his femur last season) for an impressive
2nd place finish in Pro Am. All in all this should make
for some great TV viewing, so be sure to tune in or
