Mark Rhode's 100HP+
Alba Banshee Ready
For Business!
Mark
had these wheels reduced to their bare minimum
- shaving off rotational weight and showing
off these trick RIS Hubs.
One
look at the billet grips on this Banshee and you
realize that it's not made to ride for a long time.
And the reason the front wheels look so cool is
that there isn't a brake rotor. So either this guy
is nuts, or maybe this isn't an ordinary Banshee.
Actually,
both are true. Mark Rhodes, the resident drag racer
for Team Alba, is a self admitted nut. Where most
people want to spend as much time as possible out
riding, Mark likes riding for as short a time as
possible. The more he tinkers with his machine,
the less time he actually spends on it. Because
for Mark, the faster he gets to the finish line,
the funner his ride is. He's a drag racer, that's
just what they do. He's not big on turning or stopping
either.
As
for the Banshee, it's really not one that you would
want to take out for a weekend at the dunes. Sure
you could kick the crap out of everyone at Competition
hill and the sand drags. But what would you do for
the rest of the time? Kick back, drink a few beers,
and hang out while people come and admire your unique
quad. Hey, that doesn't sound too bad, does it?
This
is not your average Banshee motor. Featuring
loads of performance parts, some billet for
shine and a clear clutch cover because it
looks cool!
Of course, one of the key elements
in a drag bike is the motor. And this is no ordinary
Banshee motor. Featuring T-Rex cylinders, this 400cc
race motor can crank out well over 100hp. 35mm Carbs
and a power jet vacuum fuel pump slam through alcohol
as fast as the pistons can drink it up! Ready for
the Power Pro pipes to spit it out!
The transmission has been totally
re-geared and features a lock-up clutch - so the
power is engaged like a light switch. The case features
a clear window so you can see the active components
in action.
This
is probably the only view that most of the
other racers will see of this Banshee - but
with sand and rock blasting back at them.
The RIS adjustable billet axle tucks those
tires in nice and close - putting more horsepower
to the ground - and looking good while doing
it.

From the look at these pictures, you
can see that Mark is not just about going fast.
Because, according to him, what good is going fast
if you don't look good doing it?
Our thoughts exactly! So Mark's Banshee
is all dressed out in polished billet aluminum and
chrome. And, of course, an Alba Tribal Flame graphics
kit and seat cover! - Which works really well with
this angry beast!
Mark
Rhodes and his Alba Banshee - Ready for Business!
Just look at the rear end - axle,
carrier, sprocket, swingarm - everything shines
like the sun. The attention to detail on this quad
is awesome!
Mark is a fairly simple guy. He just
really likes to go fast. Well, more specifically,
Mark likes to go faster than everyone else around.
And, the thing is, he works really hard to do that.
For as little time as he actually
spends in the saddle, he pours in an amazing amount
of time and energy - and, of course, money into
this machine. Which is really evident upon close
examination of this amazing Banshee.
