4-Time GNCC Women's Champion

Team Alba is very proud to have the fastest women on four wheels - Traci Cecco - representing Team Alba Racing. Traci is not only an extremely talented rider, but she also has the best spirit and attitude of anyone on the track. In 2005, Traci battled 'til the very end to for championship of one of the closest, and most competitive seasons in memory.

Riding quads since the age of twelve, Traci ’s talent soon became evident and it wasn’t long before friends and family were encouraging her to race. Known as an endurance racer, Traci’s mental and physical toughness make her nearly impossible to beat. Nowhere was that more evident than in 2004 when racing for position, she crashed her quad, broke her arm yet still continued on with the race, placing second. As a pioneer in the sport of women’s quad racing, Traci is garnering a lot of recognition for not only dominating the women’s racing series but making her mark in the men’s series as well. As part of the only women’s team entered into the 2004 Maxxis 6 hour endurance race, Traci lead her team to beat out ALL other competitors. In 2002,she also became the first woman to win a GNCC overall title, beating out 250 other racers, both male and female.

She projects a “never quit ” attitude at every race and it is this attitude that allows her to beat the odds and come out on top.In 2003,Traci needed to win each of the last three events in the series to clinch her title. Many believed it couldn’t be done but Traci calmly set about securing her championship. Even though she was plagued by setbacks and often had to race her way from the back of the pack, she wouldn’t give up and she made her Final pass on the closing lap of the last event to become the GNCC 2003 Women ’s Class Champion. The racing series rewarded her Herculean effort by honoring her with the coveted Swamp Fox Award,a prize given to hard chargers who never quit. Having won numerous championships,Traci Cecco is the premier women ’s quad rider in the country.

My most memorable race was when I won my 3rd GNCC championship in 2003. I had to win 3 of the last 4 races to which some thought I could not do. On the last race of the season at the Ironman in Crawfordsville, IN I was in second place going into the last lap which I emerged in 1st taking the win & Championship. When I came across the finish line there was a HUGE crowd of fans cheering like never before and my husband Rick was right there after crossing the line I jumped up to huge him and my quad was still running and kept on rolling. It was a huge moment for me.

traci
has never had a DNF in any of her 74 career
starts.

As with many motorsport teams, for Traci racing is a family affair. Her husband Rick,a former Cannondale sponsored rider, supports her career 100 percent. As her team manager he is responsible for all logistical and operational planning as well as implementation. In a pinch,he can also be called on to work on the quad,a role that he recently gave up to their newly hired chief mechanic, John Rowlings.

As a spectator you can’t help but know when Traci Cecco wins. A crowd favorite,Traci is well known for her lengthy burnouts after every first place finishes. With ear-piercing screams and loud applause, the audience cheers wildly as the smoke surrounds the podium. Her autograph sessions are a huge hit as she patiently talks to her fans.

My worst crash was at the Florida Hurricane GNCC in 2004. I was in a high speed field section of the track and hit a ditch which cased the frame and the quad and I started flipping in the air. I landed first and then the quad landed on me. I ended up cracking crushing my helmet & chest protector – I went on to finish the last 2 laps of the race and placed 2nd. After a checkup at a local hospital we found I fractured & bent my arm in that wreck.

When not racing, her zeal to win and natural athleticism also drives Traci to compete in triathlons. Triathlons not only feed her competitive nature but also keep her in top condition. Traci puts all her energy into her racing, which gives her and her sponsors a commanding presence among a field of the sport ’s best racers.
